The New South Wales feed in tariff scheme is another net metering scheme which only requires the utility to purchase power that is produced in excess of the building's energy requirements. A system size of 10kWp (the maximum) on a small house, where the person who lives there never uses the air conditioner, may earn a profit. Funnily enough, after researching the rest of the horrendous feed in tariff policies in Australia (ACT excluded), this one looks like a ray of sunshine. Although, in the real world, This scheme is just another slap in the face from the utility companies delivered by the political establishment.
All of this is really enough to make anyone absolutely flip out and lose whatever sanity they may have had when they started reading into the Australian feed in tariffs.
