Austria's feed in tariff…
The Austrian feed in tariff is relatively nice up until you find out that it is limited to only 10 years. The legislation is kind of like seeing someone that is really attractive from 30 meters away, but when you get closer you start to see that the person you thought you were looking at is actually a dog wearing a human costume.
Let me put it another way...
A lion is really cute from a distance, but as you get closer, it becomes an animal that is going to eat you. Therefore, it is no longer attractive.
With such nice rates, the Austrian feed in tariff follows the same principles. The investor/owner of the PV installation receives a nice rate, but only for half of the term that would allow the feed in tariff to really generate a sexy profit margin. Most Investors will not be so excited to step into this lions den without the appropriate term for maximal returns. Although profits are possible, the calculation models we use here at solarfeedintariff.net show that home owners will be the ones more interested in this policy than any serious investor.
One thumb up Austria for having a feed in tariff at all.
The other thumb down for making it an ugly one.
